Conference branding, associate promotional campaign and exhibition design

The Australian Psychological Society Limited: Conference Portfolio //

A large part of my design portfolio at the APS was to brand all conferences, and implement this conference identity across a wide range of items from website design through to long documents (handbooks, advertising and sponsorship prospectus) press advertisements, eblast artwork, mobile device ‘app’ artwork, postcards, posters, promotional items, and exhibition design.

The APS holds one major annual conference every year, in addition they have nine Colleges of psychology (many of whom hold an annual conference), 42 member groups and 41 interest groups – who respectively hold periodic conventions. The conference portfolio I managed involved establishing a fresh design for each conference held every year.

The 2013 APS Annual Conference design shown below, incorporated the conference location Cairns QLD, whilst maintaining a strong link to the corporate brand by way of colour palette, style and use of typography.

My work at the APS extended beyond conferences into assisting with the roll-out of a new corporate rebrand, developing in-house procedures, redesign of a national bi-monthly publication, and a range of additional design projects across print design and production, and crossing over into web (banners, sliders, colour swatches etc).
